New China Kitchen is a great little place. I was in the mood for Chinese and Yelp reviews led me to this place. It is located in this big plaza, right by Big Lots. The lady who took our order was very friendly. Her smile made me feel very welcome. My husband and I ordered won ton soup, sweet and sour soup, shrimp fried rice, and beef lo mein to go. It only took about 15 minutes for our food to be ready. Every dish that I just listed came out delicious! My husband said that the sweet and sour soup was one of the best he's ever had. My won ton soup was very good as well. Lots of beef and vegetables. Yummy sauce. Fried rice was pretty good, I just wish there were more vegetables in it. Overall, we both were very pleased. The portions were very generous, so we even had some food left for next day's lunches.

The food is as bad as the restaurant looks from the outside. Shrimp with broccoli tasted mediocre at best- broccoli was old. I don't recommend this place and am baffled by the reviews.

For an American Chinese take out place, this is the best I've found in St Pete. The food is great - I especially liked the hot and sour soup. If you just want a relaxed night with Chinese food - go here!

Quality ingredients, friendly service, and quick turnaround on orders, what more do you want?

Best little Chinese restaurant in St Petersburg. I'm a regular for their Szechuan chicken. Tonight, I had there Singapore Mei Fun, it was a little salty but otherwise delicious. Chuck full of shrimp, pork, chicken and egg, this noodle dish is well worth the cheap $10 price. It's a family owned and run business, and they do a great job.

Considering I live a few blocks away, I was hoping that this place had good Chinese food because I'm a bit of a Chinese fiend to be honest... Thankfully the food is quite good. Very good even. I've now been here three times and each time the meal is consistently delicious. I've had the General Tsao's Chicken, the Curry Chicken, and Honey chicken wings. All three meals were excellent. The Wonton soup has a fresh and tasty Wonton filling and they even have steak and cheese egg rolls! Crazy right? The only reason I docked them a star is for whatever reason the oil they use to cook their fried rice tastes old. Or maybe it's the wok they use, but the rice just tastes off. It fortunately isn't so bad it ruins the rest of the meal, but it's a definite problem though. Nevertheless I will continue to frequent this place and get consistently good Chinese food.

This is the second time I have visited this restaurant, and that should tell you something about me. You only have one chance to make a first impression with me. I was recommended this place, by the one and only Yelp! I have not tried a lot of the menu here, but it is slowly becoming the second most loved Chinese food that I will eat and not complain about in the Saint Petersburg area. I am again getting the chicken with garlic sauce, I seem to be drawn to this particular meal combination. It is a bit farther than the other two places that I have choices for, but not I see that I may just have to leave the other two choices out for good. The food is much better here and is very comparable to China Kitchen, in downtown. The next time I come, I am going to take a chance and order the Dragon and Phoenix, whatever that may be.

Another example how yelp reviews can be extremely inaccurate. We went there solely based on the good reviews. First of all this place doesn't offer authentic Chinese food. It is more low quality americanized Asian cuisine, that offers mostly takeout, yet has 3 tables to sit down. The pork egg rolls were hard and tasted old. We ordered chicken which came in a bowl with a plate of rice and barely any sauce. We wouldn't go here again.

I have to agree with all the positive comments and excellent ratings I read here. My wife and I had lunch here today because of the comments. We were not disappointed! It is a very small, family run place, not at all fancy, but prices were very reasonable and the food was hot and very tasty. I am certain it won't be our last time.

Best American-Chinese food in St. Pete area. I've ordered takeout from here three times and have always been satisfied. Quality if good is high, it's well prepared, and it's done so quickly. It's a little out of my way, but I'm willing to drive a couple extra miles to save myself from the bad restaurants that are closer to me.

The food is good, not great. But it is good. The eat in area was clean but not great for eating in. For a quick bite it is ok.

By all means this restaurant deserves 5 stars. Best Chinese food I've had in Florida. Their food is never greasy and the homemade mustard is off the chain (you need to ask for it they don't just give it out) If you're a fan of Egg Foo Yung then you must try New China's.....that stuff is hard to make correctly and this place nails it. A must try. I live very close thankfully because they do NOT deliver. I wish they did.

The best Chinese restaurant I've ever got take-out at!!! The service is also great! I've been going since I was young, now bring my wife and family and they love it too. I would recommend this place to everyone! I hope they always stay open! Stay away from the buffet in the same plaza, this is the small store front Chinese restaurant not the buffet. New China is great!

Great little Chinese place. The food has always been good every time I have eaten here and the price is very on par with similar restaurants. They are extremely fast with even large orders, usually only needing about 10 minutes from ordering until you're out the door. The combo platters with a main entree item, pork fried rice, and an egg roll is usually enough for a meal and a snack later on for me. I would recommend giving this place a try.

I haven't had good Chinese food since I moved to the area. I ordered the chicken & broccoli combination platter with some egg drop soup. I waited for about five minutes. The food was delicious, and I was impressed with the fried rice. I would definitely recommend checking it out. I'll be back to check out some of the other dishes.

Love this place!! It's my go-to Chinese food spot. The food tastes so fresh, and they are really generous with portions!

THIS IS NOT THE BUFFET PLACE located in the same shopping center! This place is really, really good: fresh ingredients, generous portions, quick and reasonably priced! This is as good as a wok joint gets and then some! We ordered the boneless ribs, little spring rolls, chicken lo mien, Hunan beef w pork fried rice and hot & sour soup. All of it was absolutely delicious and we have plenty for tomorrow, too! I don't know if they use MSG or not so next time I'll ask. I don't have any issues with MSG and once in awhile it won't kill me but if they use it, I need to monitor how often I indulge. They have a diet menu that states no MSG and everything is steamed (boring) so if I want to eat healthy one day I can. I do wish they had steamed brown rice, though. I just like it better..... Try this place, trust me, you'll like it!

I first ate here several years ago when a friend told me about it. Well since then I was hooked from the start! New China really has some of the best if not the best tasting Chinese food in the entire area. Both Cantonese and mandarin dishes are offered though I prefer the less hot and spicy Cantonese entrees. My picks for those who haven't eaten there yet are in no special order: 1. House special or pork fried rice-very generous portions of beef, chicken, bbq pork, shrimp, eggs & veggies well seasoned in a tasty yellow fried rice. And the bbq pork rice is also tasty if you don't care for all of the other stuff. 2. BBQ boneless ribs-well seasoned and cooked in a broiler oven so very little grease and no oily texture or taste. Most Chinese eateries cook ribs in a skillet so that the finished item is always greasy though not here! 3. General Tso's chicken-well seasoned, hot & spicy though you can request for your order to have the spicy level adjusted and its also listed on the menu. 4. Hot n' Sour soup-the best tasting soup of this flavor I have tired in this area and it comes with a small bag of crispy noodles for topping. I like to get steamed rice and place some over my soup. 5. Crab Rangoon-deep fried and crispy treats stuffed with fresh crab meat and you get a total of eight along with sweet n' sour dipping sauce. Basically similar to fried won ton except with the crab filling. 6. Fried, crispy shrmp-I get this dish with fried rice and one shrimp egg roll and its at the upper left section of the menu. Also available with plain rice though I prefer the chicken or pork fried rice and egg rolls are extra..Note*, there are two kinds of fried shrimp, small size where you get 15 total or 5 jumbo size shrimp. Which one you order depends on your appetite. 7. Steak n' cheese egg roll-a different take on the usual pork n' veggie stuffed version and this eatery is the only Chinese place that offers this version which has no veggies added .8. Lo mein-I like the pork, chicken and veggie versions. And for the combo dinners you can get lo mein in place of fried rice for one dollar more. Oh and there's also a lunch menu with combos priced at just $5.50 includes one entrée with pork fried rice and free soda which is from 11-3 pm, Mon-Fri. 9..Chinese donuts-really these are some of the tastiest mini donuts I've ever eaten! I ordered some and ate these with hot chocolate from Starbucks and the donuts are fried with powdered sugar coating and great for dessert too. I cannot praise New China enough and they don't deliver because if they did then the owner would have to raise her menu prices! Try their food and you will not be disappointed!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
